One of my females does the same thing. The other female got the tip of her tail cut off by accident when she was a pup. I would have docked them if I had it to do again. It's a mystery to me as to why some dogs hit things and bleed all over and others don't, even in the same size pens.
I put them on a chain when I can, and it clears right up. Most vets I've talked to, won't dock an adult dogs tail unless it's real bad.
