I can appreciate one striving for perfection.
I just don't "get" bay pens. I'm not saying anything is wrong with them, just that I don't get it. I've been to a handful, but I have trouble seeing where the bay pen comp applies to a hog dog.
The face to face, nose to nose baying without looking away is not something I would be looking for in a hog dog. Let the dog look away, so that it takes pressure away from the hog. Let the dog circle, look out, back off a bit and let the hog settle. Seems all those things will get one docked at the bay comps I've been to. All things I want in a hog dog....
Now make no mistake, I think people that want to have pen dogs should continue to be able to, andI'll support the pens in that manner. I just don't care to support them with my attendence.
