Don't think I'd put it in the same category as sheep penning.....
I'd much rather watch a good dog pen sheep, than a hog in the middle of a round pen being barked at by a "hog dog".
Even a sheep dog will bark at a pig in the middle of a round pen
Just joking....But to me....making a run in competition isn't about just a dog baying a pig....it takes PERFECTION to win at most pens...especially at Uncle Earls....heck...sometimes your dog has to make a perfect run just to make it into the top 5.
That's what's it's more about to me...striving for perfection.
Bay pens are about the same as the tournaments, it all just depends on who gets lucky and gets the right hogs....
I've been to earls twice, and might have watched a total of 30 minutes of baying.... I just dot get much out of it.... I mainly go for all the vendors...
