After he breaks the bay he know they after him an he gonna run till he gets tired or thinks he can hide , then when he see dog again he run again , till he tired or dogs loose him The key to stoping running hogs is a fast track dog that can keep him moving with no rest
These guys that say there dogs will put teeth to stop runner haven't been on a hog that knows the game an is gonna run , hogs are fast real fast an know where they are going , so when they decided they gonna break an run you just gotta have fast moving track dog that will stay on him till he gets tired an bays ,
Alot of times the hogs break after the dogs had a failed attempt at catching an the hog don't wanna stop again because they think teeth gonna be waiting , I have noticed looser bay dogs sometimes work better on the real running hogs
Alot of people have diffrent opion on what a running hog is Some say a mile or 2 is a runner , I'm gonna say 8 miles is a good running hog The longest I had was 23 mile but alot of hogs we catch don't run more than a few hundred yards to mayb 2 mile an I run open dog
