Boy did I get screwed !

Besides from my lab(never sent the papers in) I have never bought a puppy tht came with papers. I have never had the "want" to breed dogs. And to date I have never owned a dog that was worth breeding beside from my catch dog, that I got spayed because a male got hooked up to her years agos.
Papers give you the blood line info on certain dogs,true. How easy is it to pass along fake papers? Are papers better then the breeder telling you about the dogs back ground? Papers,to me, are only used to mark up the price of a dog from the sellers point of view.
How many yellow dogs are posted on the forum with a healthy price tag that have papers following them. Same with cats,hounds etc.
