I have the GoPro Hero 3. It is awesome. I will use it in 2 weeks when I run the London Marathon. I have a head strap and it will be positioned on top of my head. I will set it to take time lapsed pictures every minute. Then make a video with each frame on screen for 4 seconds. That way you can tell what is going on and the video is only 10 to 15 minutes long.
I have a buddy that records video on his mountain bike rides with it mounted on his helmet. You feel like you are riding the bike. It is very impressive.
As to mounting brackets ... they have all kinds. But I prefer the ones on the head/helmet. They give a nice view.
I bought mine new on Ebay.
Rl, just an advice, to me the head strap for a marathon will be a little heavy after a while. Jmo.
