I left my collar on a dog at the ranch i am still gettin signal 13.7 miles at my house

I have tracked a dog 25 miles with no problem!!!

I must admit I have never been to Texas.  However, based off of my experience I find both of these figures to be the exception to the rule.  I have never come close to these figures.  I do have a question for both of you though.  Were you on the dog screen when you saw the distance?  If so, it tells the distance to the last known location of the collar from your current location.  It is possible to turn the collar off and go 1000 miles away.  If you turn the Garmin Astro 220 on at this new 1000 mile away location, it is going to show the collar where you last tracked it.  However, it is not tracking with 1000 mile communication.  It is simply going off the units memory of the last plotted location of the collar.

All that being said, if you were actually looking at the individual collar's screen, and it still showed complete signal communication, then I am very impressed.  I myself, have never got more than around 5 miles.  I look forward to your responces.

Regards,
Josh
