Thats on thing that has always puzzled me too. Ive caught big boars with small teeth and 150 pounders with 3" worth out of the same areas! I know they break them fighting and what  'matt_aggie04" and "justincorbell" say sure makes a lot of since to me. I will say one thing. Ive been hunting SE Texas for 20 plus years and rare are the boars with over 4 inch cutters for me. 2.5 - 3 inchers are usually the length on the big hogs I catch. I have only ran down 2 hogs in 22 years of hunting with better than 4" in cutters.

Thats why the monsters that get posted on ETHD just blow me away! Rare trophies in my book.
Seems like the Florida boys are blessed with more than their fare share of big tusked boars to me! Or is that a curse? lol.
