Ruhh roh shaggy!!! You are nicer than I am, unless they got on a runner and left property they had permission to hunt theyd be s.o.l if i were in your shoes!! No tags on the dog?? ....obviously not if you are having to post this.......sounds to me like u got a new dog!!! Drives me nuts when I see hunting dogs without contact info on a collar......its the least we can do!!! Every collar and cut collar i use has my info on em......its only 2 dang bucks....y take the chance??
