To me a dogs value is dependent upon the 2 people making that deal. Myself I could not ever see paying 2 grand for any dog. That is nearly a months pay and beyond what I could ever pay. To the next guy tho he could make that in a week and not see any problem in paying it.

On the other side of the coin the man selling the dog got offered 2 grand and didn't make a ton of money that would be hard to pass up. While the next guy could call that chump change and be insulted.

This is why I say dependent upon the 2 making the deal.

It is possible to find a dog for 500 that will do everything that 2k dog will do. While it may be hard it is possible. That 2k dog may get killed on the first hunt if u get on the right hog. At that point was it worth 2k.

If a mans sole purpose for that 2k dog is breeding I can come nearer to seeing  the price as long as the breeding partner is up to same par which would produce pups that would more than cover the expense.

Poor boy logic what can I say.

I told you before..and I tell you again...I like your poor man Logic...good post...  Smiley

I once had a dog back in the early 1990's that I said 5000 cash wouldn't get him...because 5000 can be spent here and there and then have nothing to show for it...but I also said that if one of my kids needed the money to finish college or anything that had a very high level of importance...then I would have sold the dog but not for nothing less...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...
A hunting dog is born not made...
