I don't know about the protein content but years ago they said that excessive protein would damage the liver or kidneys...I never have had any problems feeding hi protein dog food to my dogs...

dogs that over heat can be the type of dogs that hunt way too hard and won't quit...some over heat because of the long hair, others over heat because of lack of conditioning and those that are too fat...never heard of high protein being a problem but I would like to know for sure...
