if i was going to sell a dog for over 500 dollars i would give trial or let them come hunt with me whichever one they wanted to do, if i was buying a bulldog i would want to see it catch a good hog in a pen atleast and walk it around a few more dogs to make sure it wasnt a fighter and a dog less than 500 id let you see it bay in a pen because thats about all your gonna get for a 500 dollar dog most of the time no since in everyone driving all over the country for a 500 dollar dog no how. but i had a good dog deal a while back i found out about a dog for sale for 2000 i didnt know the guy and he didnt know me but he dont live to far maybe 80 miles i went and met him and he said we can go hunting now or this weekend or you can take the dog to your place and hunt it i called the guy 6 days later and told him id keep the dog. but its easier to give someone money if someone you know knows them. but its no way id drive across the state and buy a high dollar dog at the gas station with trial or without, its just asking to get took. the only way id sell a dog is with cash i wouldnt take a check from someone way off either because they could cancel it before they even right it. what it boils down to buying a finished dog is a big gamble every hog hunter i know has been took on dogs and im sure someone somewhere tommorow will buy a dog at a gas station and be real dissapointed when they let it out of the box but its been preached on several years.
