I'm sure some of the experts will chime in.  But they come in a variety of shapes and sizes; from black and tan, yeller, red, ring necks, pied or pinto (whatever you call it) even a few leapord strains.
Most are ROUGH, one or two out type dogs.
To me, my ideal fl cur (the type I remeber as a youngen and would love to find) would be a block headed, bob-tailed dog with the right amount of leg, enough for speed and agility but not to much that they couldn't burn through the palmetos.  Wide and deep chested, not a huge dog but I'd say in the 50-70lb range
