Wildchild...to each his own and if you want registered dogs than go for it. All my dogs (plotts and one catahoula) are registered and I like it that way. I only aim to please myself, and since I am paying the feed bill I will do what I want. If you want registered dogs than do it. Sorry I dont know the best registered lines.
Sometimes economics are important. There are people I work with that constantly talk about breeding and selling thier Pug dogs and English Bulldogs as just house pets. They are selling these non-working dogs for pets and getting anywhere from 800-1600 for a pup.
Id say as long as you are breeding great dogs to other great dogs than go for it. My only opinion and concern is that people down breed junk just make a buck. It goes against my way of thinking, but if your dogs are registered and you can breed to another good dog that has papers, go for it.
