That's one thing that makes this a fun sport. It's hard to get a good " real hog dog" and when you own one good one you will want one better than that one and every dog is different in so many ways and that's what makes it difficult to get started. But if everybody had a good dog it wouldn't be any places to hunt someone else would be hunting the places. But you can find a dog somewhere forsale that you like but I see people a lot that go buy dogs and have no places to hunt them and that's just as or more important as having a good dog. Good luck getting started
