I live in the city too, and all of my dogs wear the $37 guardian bark collar from wal mart. I put them on before I go to bed and take them off in the morning. They work immediately on all but one dog who I think is a little sadistic and likes to test the colllars power before he shuts up. And I guarantee you bark collars have no effect of a dog not wanting to bark at a hog. The dogs now know what the collars are about and will go right back to barking as soon as they are off. Some of the best money I havever spent on my dogs!!
