Mt curs probably have some hound in them from way back  and I bred many generations with no hound in them...some were open some were semi silent...
l liked them...but liked those best that opened about 3 times when they located a good track and then shut up until they jumped or bayed the hog...after the hog broke bay some opened more than others but all were fast on track...if i didn't like them they would have been gone...i don't like a dog that is open when running a feeder track or one that opens on a cold track...if a dog is open it needs to be a fast track dog...I prefer a dog that opens just enough to know he struck and which way he is going...sometimes they wouldn't open and if I didn't see a dog for a while it was time to pull out the tracker...the dogs I have now are about the same style...
