I've hunted with a few dogo crosses. The guy I started hog hunting with when I was just starting out had a half dogo half plott hound, he was a big, heavy boned sucker that was straight catch. Just seemed like he was always cut down though, didn't know how to get side by side and hold. He would take fresh tracks and was an awesome dog in grain fields, he liked to stick his nose up and work the wind. A friend of mine still has a Catdo he bought as a pup over 13 years ago. He's caught hundreds of hogs and still is able to go strike a hog and shut it down. Will bay if he's alone and its a big pig but have seen him catch some good boars by himself or with one or two help dogs. Excellent looking dog. I've got a half dogo 1/4 cat, 1/4 running walker that I've raised from a pup. Turned into more of a pet/guardian for my fiance but Thursday night he went over a mile from the house with my retired female and they jumped a group and ran for 4 hours catching pigs. Before I stopped hunting him he was striking hogs over cur dogs that were over twice his age. ON THE OTHER HAND I've seen ALOT of dogo crosses that were culls. Seen some that had Major health problems and lots that were structural wrecks. Just like anything else, Gotta use Sound breeding and common sense.
