If you keep the solids from going in the drum it will drain fast, shovel your pup into a five gallon bucket everyday and dump that somewhere when it fills up. The way skeptics work is once the tank fills up it the water level stays just below the pipe that exits the tank feeding the drain field. Once you start spraying water the level rises and then flows into your drain field. Then gets absorbed into the ground. If you go the with a drum and a drain field dig a hole for your drum. Only cut the bottom out don't drill holes. Fill the bottom of the hole with rock then set your drum. Fill rock all around the drum to the top of the drum and then cover the rest up with dirt.( might want to leave it so that you can open the drum if something gets clogged you will have access to it). When you plum from your pens use 3" pipe. Plum to the top of one of the sides. On the other side of the drum use 3" pipe however go 1.5" lower then the first pipe so that it doesn't back up as the water level rises to flow into the drain field. Then when you put your drain field in make sure you give it 1"-2" of fall for every 10' of drain field. Good luck to you. Lot of hard work if you don't know what your doing or not a handy man
