growing up, we used 2 55gal drum for our house septic system. dug 1 big hole, and made a step down for 1 barrel to sit 10" lower than the 1st barrel. just below the top of the 1st barrel, my dad cut a 6" hole for a 6" pvc pipe. he put a 90 on the pipe and cut a 6" hole in the top of the other barrel and stubbed the 90 in the hole, cut another 6" hole on the other side of the top for the discharge pipe. with my dads new house, he dug a 10'x10'x6' hole,  we put a 6" pipe on the downhill side for a discharge line. we put chicken wire up a couple inches off the sides and bottoms. mixed up sack-create with a putty like consistency and applied it to the bottom and half way up the sides first, let it dry a day and finished the sides up the next day. don't know how much crap it will hold, but he has been in his new house 14yrs and has yet to have to clean it out and EVERYTHING (black and gray water) goes into it.

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!
