This is all I run they find catch and hold. I have running right now a cat two ridge/pit crosses and my ridgeback. My female ridge is rough and can throw her or a gritty bay dog In also. Depends on how where you hunt if your hunting horseback im guessing you can get most places pretty quick might try a deerhound cross or stag hound cross type dog. I have 2 deer hound cross puos that the male is a catching maching at 7 months old and female is getting there. There is lots of options it more boils down to what you want in a dog
