I cant stand cable leads they hurt when a dog pops the end of one seen them flat come loose also. I make most all my leads and have pulled some heavy weight with them that no cable lead I have seen would handle. I use basiacly a chain small but strong with a swivle snap and wither braided mule tape or nylon strap with another snap at the end of that. Hand sew the strap with 50 pound spider wire fishin line and it aint going to break. I have some out of the 24 inch horse leads that I cut the snap off then reweld a swivle snap on the end that work very well. Again nylon or mule tape handle.
