i would go over and meet them for shure , they may not mind the hogs  ,    at least leave your # and tell them to call if they need your help, traps,dogs, what ever they want.

if you hit it off  with them they may let you in

those guys must of had a bad experience with a half a$$ dog hunter to not even consider it.
