I like mine big and slow. Not un-athletic just slower going to a bay. Doesn't bother me one bit if they trot to a bay. I like it better because I run real loose dogs and usually only one or two on the ground that will run a 10ft circle around one and bark. I'm a firm believer that if your catch dogs go in slow and pick their rout rather than crashing through the brush and slam one then your less likely to bust a bay wen the catch dogs get sent. I like it wen they slip in there, pick a rout, and nab an ear. Wen my bulldogs catch they are on their own till I get there cus my cur dogs don't help catch and I don't want them to. Don't want them to be lazy, just accurate
