Also your right MOST of those that were there on Sat were just show people and had/have no idea about a hunt. I know several hunters who took folks out to educate them on the use of the dogo. We "try" to educate and get show folks to hunt their lines to try to keep the dog from going the way of other once great breeds. This is why I always say if you want a hunting DOGO get one from a hunter or hunting kennel not a show kennel, and fix or cull the SOB if it doesn't work.

I agree with the culling and fixing but how can anyone afford them dogs? Without a guarantee of them being a sure enough dog? Also, 90% of ppl I ve heard of ppl using them for a cd? Why spend the money for a cd

If you get with the right breeder you will not have to pay the high dollar price tag. As if your a known respected hunter and have references from other dogo people and hunters they will work with you. I also agree on price tag I have not nor will I pay a high $$$$ for a dog. I have been lucky and hooked up with the right breeders and gotten dogs cheap to free. Look for hunting lines that are proven LA DOGOS on here is one who has a high working percentage. I am selling pups from proven lines myself right now and not asking an arm an leg. However with any dog or pup its a gamble on the dog. I have seen curs and Catahoula dogs being sold for $5-600 + as pups so what is the difference in them compared to a DOGO?

A good well bred DOGO should do it all. I run mine loose and they have found their own hogs. With that said I use them mostly as catchdogs but I got tired of having 50 pound earrings and had the luck to hunt with some really good dogos from the Rankin line. The problem is too many people breeding for show an no go. An folks not willing to cull dogs that should be and breeding number 2 because of the $$$$$$$.
