I have hunted with a CD that only had 1 K9 in its head. That dog still caught. I don't put a cd on any hog bigger than itself till after a year to help prevent this. The way I understand their teeth set at around a year. Before that they are not tight in the socket and may pull out faster. If the dog is only missing one I would continue to hunt it.
