I got one of the skinning things that goes into my receiver hitch from tractor supply.  When you put it together you pin the piece that goes into the hitch to the piece with the winch.  I have never used that pin, I pick the animals straight out of the bed of the truck.  spin it around and get to work.  If that makes any sense.
