One of the reasons we breed dogs is to make better dogs. I don't believe that you have a chance at a better dog with a clone. Maybe as good but maybe not. With a breeding you are crossing up 2 sets of chromosomes in hopes of something better. JMO

WayOut...I agree...

I believe one can produce better dogs through better selection. we can take dogs that hunt pretty good and over a few generations breed hard hunting dogs that can actually hunt themselves to death by continuing to run hog after hog until you catch them or until they fall out from heat exhaustion...

also I have seen cur dogs that were pretty rough and then every now and then one will be born that will lock up like a bull dog on a big boar hog...I like the idea of accomplishment by my own selection process than having clones...
