They say the max effective range on the 300 is roughly 450 meters, so I'd say the same as you, the right shooter would be deadly at 4 to 5 hundred , i don't know much about it, my buddy owns a gun range and some folks came and tested that rifle with different barrels and left behind a BUNCH of those spent casings, when he told me what they were going for I picked up a bunch of them.
