I'm asking bc I don't know, and I can't afford a forge myself, but. Would building a forge not be cheaper than buying one? Build an outer shell out of steel, then lined with 4" fire brick, mortared together with fireplace mortar, a blower fan and a thermostat and pyrometer, fueled by propane or natural gas? Again, I a skiing bc I don't know and iv priced forges before and iv got TO MANY costly irons in the fire rite now. Please don't think I'm being a smartass.
