  yeah ed I did  ,  the tank itself sits behind the seat and it vents thru the fuel cap . I tried running it with and without the cap . I'm pretty sure [ hoping anyways  lol ] that the rebuilt carb was bad . it wouldn't be the first . . have to wait till tomorrow [ sat ] for my carb to get here  [ I hate this bohump east texas ] you can't ever just go buy something you have to have it ordered and wait a couple days for it  lol .  but if this carb don't work i'll pull the pushrod cover and check the lifters I could have an exhaust lifter bad in it causing a cylinder to load up . as far as the fuel it's good and fresh I put new fuel in my new fuel tank .  the old tank was rusted and passing trash since I've owned the truck . I will use the old tank after coating the inside as a reserve fuel tank mounted in the bed behind the cab like my old 71 had . I liked that set up in my other old truck .
