Back in the old days a catahoula was called leopard cur or catahoula cur....nowadays folks talk about cur dogs and cats or catahoula's...they deffirntate between them and curs. ..

About 10 years or so ago the leopard cur name was changed to leopard hound...this breed is more of a hunting breed than a catahoula on average...
