thanks big. i like hearin about how hog populations are in different areas. i have 2 copies of a book all about hogs in this country. interesting read but now outdated in alot of cases. its been years since i hunted behind dogs that had any discenable amount of ridgeback in em. years back guys who used a turn in bulldog used half apbt half ridgeback or 3/4 apbt 1/4 ridgeback. they wanted the bulldogs power and ability to catch and not let go and add some more size and less desire to dog fight from the ridgebacks. hunted behind a couple plott ridgebacks that if you could keep em off deer would find hogs if any were in the county, lol. i bred one of my abs to a female of a guys up around liveremore some years back and he liked the results. the female was catahoula and border collie.one of my first 2 hog dogs was a big male aussie that would flat make a big boar sit .
