You either have to catch em when the dogs first find em or have enough bottom to run the air out of them...all this about dogs that can stop runners or shut em down I just don't buy. If they're going to run they're going to run period.
Another thing you may want see if one of your dogs is busting the bay, a bay buster never helps matters on a running hog.
I agree it's been getting worse lately I'm lookin really hard at the dogs I'm running to check for a bay breaker but harder to find that out than it sounds especially when they are 800+yds when they strike then it's off to the races. Actually saw the hog 5yds from the pipeline sucker came by like grease lightening was hoping he would come out I've started carrying my rifle on a regular basis because of this junk. I don't know if running the wind out of these jokers is possible due to how far we end up going, we're talking milesss off the properties were supposed to be on and they are 800-1200 acres on average. We have permission from surrounding land owners to get dogs and get back where we are supposed to be but as bad as they are going were getting past everyone we've talked to quick fast and in a hurry sometimes.
