Valid points by everybody.

some hogs wont run and some run from one place to another and bay up no matter what the dogs do .... some hogs wont bay or stop   gotta  run him down and catch him  or just stay with him til he burns out witch may take 15 or so miles running ..... just different  hogs in different terrain run different ....you will never get any style or pack that works every time ..... if I get a runner bayed  I send the box  if I can get close enuff too ....but  if they miss  bye bye ...hahahahaha  a lot of its terrain.... some of its time of the year about to get real tuff with all the green leaves coming on ...... some old dogs just know how  to hold a hog bayed or a group of hogs .....but  you still gotta catch it …..

I tend to agree with what he said. A lot of times when a hog makes up his mind to run, he is going to run no matter how good of dogs you are running & the time of year & terrain dictate is the dogs can catch up & shut him down.

Over the years I have had several dogs that could consistently bay hogs by theirselves. These dogs just made it look easy no matter where they were hunted. I have also had dogs that when hunted 3 or more together caught everything. They did not let hogs get away but what a price I paid in Vet bills & getting dogs killed. The trick like Tx.Hogdogs said is to find that happy medium that works for you.
