I've never heard that one before but it stands to reason, same notion as cutting the tips off of a dogs ear and now that I think about it I've noticed that the hogs we catch that have been run hard or are hot seem to pump thick deep red blood a lot more from their ears when we mark them than a hog that gets marked in the winter time.
