I would make it so far back next time ..

I do wheelies with hogs on the back and I've flipped over with them on the back to going up a hill .

Also make sure it's high enough a normal dog can come off and still put its feet on the ground .. I can't tell you how many dogs have come off and that probably been the only thing that didn't break their neck or suffocate them
