I have seen that a few times it happens when the hog is ran a long time when it's warmer. I think it's more of a stress factor then you ran it to death

This is what it is!           I have not had one pig die on me all summer long out of all the pigs I've sold.  Buyer has told me several times he don't know how I'm doing it but I'm the only one that's able to consistently sale him healthy dog caught pigs this summer.  Usually it's 30 hours before my pigs are run over the scales.      The dogs not allowing the pigs to run races and get hot and dehydrated is the main key to my success in keeping them healthy this summer.   These same pigs have often been caught for much longer than most catches.  It's not to mention how long the dog swings, it's how far the race was run that's keeping them healthy this summer.     Course you want to keep the stress to a minimum and eliminate as much of the swing time as you can.
When I tie these pigs they are on fire and burning up even as a result of the short race.     Often times the pigs are tied and left for 2 plus hours before I can get them to a trailer and untied.  Still no dead pigs.
