I know your not looking to spend much, but I wouldn't waste money on $300 night vision. 75-100 yds is about all it will be good for, and that's with a full moon. You will be disappointed. I have a few sets of night vision. 3 are PVS 14's and one PVS 7, all third generation. Two of the 14s are brand new, never used. They have pinnacle tubes, manual gain, autogated, and are top quality. The brightness and clarity is insane. I don't shoot with mine but you can mount it behind a regular scope and remove it if/when needed. If you ever looked through a set you'd want one and wouldn't think about buying the $300 set.
