I completely understand that dogs get on places where they aren't supposed to be and there is no way to stop that. My issue is the way your buddy handled himself and then don't understand why it went down the way it did. My thing is this... everyone gets on here talking about what they would do and how they would handle it when they've never been in that situation. On top of that the things that they are saying aren't the right things to do. There are laws in place for a reason and this situation would have been totally different if your buddy would have handled it differently. In all honesty if it would have been handled differently y'all be on here talking about that SOB getting arrested and charged with a felony for shooting your buddy's dog. As far as not needing courage from the "iron" he is carrying... my question is this, why did it come into play if he didn't feel he needed it? Obviously there was something in his mind that made him feel the need to resort to that. If it was solely anger that caused the weapon to become involved it would have probably ended up differently and we would quite possibly be talking about lives being lost. So obviously he felt the need for a larger form of intimidation than just his mere presence. I don't know your buddy and I am not trying to say or insinuate anything about him so don't take it that way, I am just speaking from my experiences. I wore a gun and the only time mine was removed from its holster is when there was some sort of doubt in my mind about the situation we were going into and the feeling that it was going to take more than my presence to get the situation under control or end the situation all together, so I know about that feeling you get that makes you feel the need to use or display your weapon.

Be who you are and say what you mean because those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind.
