Getting him neutered will most likely do you no good, it only works if you do it before all ther hormones have developed, after hormones are developed (which is typically 9-18. or so) as soon as the dog recovers from surgery he,she will be the exact same way they were before. You have more patiance than I do - a rcd is not hard to replace.
