Burleson County-June 2009.

This knockdown is about 1 acre in size, and at $400/acre cost of getting the corn to this stage, it adds up pretty quick.  Most of the damage was done about 10-12 days previous to the picture taking.  The hogs had been hitting the field for ~3 nights before we found them to be in the corn, and did most of this damage during that time.

We hunted the field the first time and got 3 hogs out of a bunch and scattered the rest.  We went back today and the big group of hogs had not been back......we had to hunt for a few hours before we found a boar hog which ended up as a race and the hog smoked us but the dogs atleast got his blood pressure up.  It was just too dang hot and the dogs were worn out by the time we go on the hog and they were totoaly sapped after the race.  So we went home with a promise......that hog better find some different territory before it gets cool because he owes us for some corn, and he can't hide from Paris.
