I usually start off with the bay pen deal because it is a controlled situation. Leave him in the box and get worked up turn him out to the others. If your situation allows lengthen the turnout. Then go to a real live bay and try the same thing. Let him get worked up and hiss him along encourage him to go to the bay. Could even do it with a tied up hog. Make it a game to him but the first couple of times he has to win to become interested like a kid and checkers.
