Glad your dog is healing well now...like already said...twigs, grass, dirt and other foreign matter will delay healing and sometimes if the foreign object doesn’t come out on its own it will continue to be a problem...many guys on here believe in hydrotherapy and they say it works great...
I was the wound out as cleans as possible and use cut heal twice a day...and if it is bad enough I use 500 mg amoxicillin capsules, one twice a day for a week or so...cleaning the wound and keeping it clean is very important...
