I am no expert, but I always had the opinion that in order for a true black mouth to throw Bob tails, there had to be some mountain curr in the back ground somewhere. I'm sure that is a recessive gene which means both parents would have to carry it in order to get it. That wouldn't be far fetched especially if you were breeding within the same family. Just my opinion of course.
