Yea, don't buy the cheaper hardware when building a chain, I now use heavy duty swivels and carabiner snaps instead of trigger snaps, the swivels on trigger snaps never hold up more than a year with active dogs working them, I connect the swivel to the chain with a cold shut, (links you hammer together) and I put two carabiners the same size with the mouths facing each other, only way for a dog to get off is if you take him off or his collar comes off.....
