X2 on what Bigo said... I’ve had dogs get it several times over the years. It may take 2 or 3 30 day treatments with doxycycline, but if you knock it, they can still be bred. If it comes back after 3 rounds, you’ll have to get the dog neutered. I lost one dog to it years ago because I was giving the wrong antibiotic... the swollen nut went down, when it really ruptured and the infection went into his body and went septic. That was a hard lesson learned. Now I keep a bottle of doxy on hand and start a dog on it immediately if there’s any signs of brucellosis, lyme, lepto, etc...
