I am just going to address the snap issue since I and many other bulldog guys won't use any type snap. I made my own swivels for years using 3/8 " round stock to make a ring the collar goes through and an eyebolt with a nut welded to it. You have to remove the collar to take the dog on and off but I never had a failure. Gary Hammonds and Floyd Boudreaux will both tell you they are as secure as you can get.
