Not cruel Dean. To me it’s peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about them getting out or a stray wandering up to pick a fight or breed something. My dogs will flat crawl out of a pen if they wind a pig by the house. Chains are outlawed here in Parker county. Too many damned do gooders moving in wanting to call in on you cause they don’t understand that I can give them more exercise on a chain.
Clean kennels, fresh water system, turn out yard with water trough - hardly see that as cruel.
