You answered me, the part where you said about starting younger on bear versus hog. I heard from another guy that had Plotts and Catahoulas, that he liked to start both breeds on bear because he thought it made the catahoula dogs better hog dogs. He evidently didn’t use his plotts on hogs. It made me wonder if you could put younger dogs on bear. In my really simple little mind I would’ve figured the bear to be a little more intimidating and probably rougher too if contact is made. I’m sure too it’s easier to know (most times) what you’re running with bear vs hogs.
